2012 Calendar

MAU89150.jpg

"Earth", the 2012 calendar of the Lecta Group, is dedicated to Nature's beauty reproduced on paper.

The creative concept plays with 12 shots of a countryside seen from above; an aerial perspective offering a stunning take on nature.

The pictures show how the straight lines of human intervention integrate with the natural geometric chaos and how nature itself is rich with lines and forms. Colours explode in chromatic contrast where the intense blue of a lake is surrounded by a strong green, which fades into the chesnut colors of autumn; the grey of a road cuts through the green of fields, the red woods, white showcovered trees; and then shade fills spaces with an altered perception of colour.

The images have been taken by Kacper Kowalski, a Polish photographer with a passion for flying. Kowalski won the World Press Photo Ward in 2009 and is also a paragliding instructor. His photographic works have reached these expressive peaks thanks to a special camera assembly mounted on a paraglider, with which he composed and shot the calendar's images.

The 2012 calendar is not being released by Cartiere del Garda alone, but by the entire Lecta Group, including the Italian paper mill Cartiere del Garda, the French Condat and the Spanish Torraspapel. "Earth" is the first calendar from the Lecta Group, which decided to bring the three companies together.

For the printing Cartiere del Garda selected GardaMatt Art 200 gsm, its woodfree coated paper with a smooth matt surface, ideal for high-end publishing and commercial print.
