EMAS

EMAS registration is a voluntary act.

EMAS (acronym of Eco Management and Audit Scheme) is a regulation issued by the European community that incorporates the principles and the methods of regulation ISO 14001. However, the registration procedure is more selective because it involves the institutions, the workers and the community where the producer is located and engages the regional and national authorities in the field upon inspection.

It also expects that information relating to single aspects of the environment (waste water, air pollution, energy consumption, etc.) be made public.
An inspection is also necessary in this case by an outside body which, in our case, is the same that certifies us for the ISO 14001, namely Tuv Sud, known worldwide for the seriousness and scrupulousness of their inspections.

Garda Cartiere obtained the EMAS Registration on 30th June 2005 (registration number I-000342) - last renewal in 2011
